Meet the Team

My name is Stella Dubel, and I am currently the Director for Training and Education at the National Council for Children. I hold a Diploma in Primary Education and a Certificate in Special Needs Education. I have over 30 years of experience working with primary school children of all ages as a teacher, Special Needs coordinator, and Deputy Head Teacher responsible for Pastoral Care and Support.

In May 2023, I decided to embark on a new journey with the National Council for Children out of my desire to work with a wider and more diverse group of people and children, as well as help influence policies affecting children of Seychelles. As a Training and Education officer, I help develop programs and initiatives that contribute to the welfare and well-being of children. I also undertake research that will help influence decisions and policies involving children.

My aim is to contribute towards making a difference to the lives of the children who cross my path, and my ambition is to help grow and develop NCC into a highly reputed and recognized organization.

I am Ms. Latifah Noel, and I have been working at NCC for one year now which started as a Child Support Officer at the President’s Village and soon moved to the Training Section at Headquarters.

I hold a Diploma in Primary Education and seven years’ experience working in the teaching profession. In April 2023 I embarked on a journey with the National Council for Children as I wanted to explore other domains. This took me to the President’s Village whereby I worked closely with the Senior Child Coordinator, I had a new spectrum on the different key areas on how to cater for the children in care home. As a teacher you tend to develop maternal feelings for your children in the classroom and at the President’s Village, the feelings were ten times more. I also got to experience how a care home is run, especially the different challenges that comes with it.

In October 2023, I was transferred to the training section, whereby I got a taste in another field. It was not difficult to adapt since the work itself, is more about delivery of sessions in schools and organisations. In our section, we work hand in hand to ensure a smooth delivery of our daily work. In addition, I also work with the communication Officer in partaking some IT or videography work.

My name is Gaetane Valmont, and I have spent the past 26 years working in education, a profession that has always been close to my heart. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of teaching children in both government and international schools, helping them learn, grow, and develop the skills and confidence they need to succeed.

I hold a Bachelor of Education (Honours) in Primary Education and have always been passionate about learning, both for myself and for those around me. My years in the classroom have given me valuable experience in supporting children with different learning needs, building positive relationships with families, and creating engaging learning environments where every child feels valued and supported.

My love for working with children and my commitment to their well-being have led me to an exciting new chapter as a Training and Education Officer at the National Council for Children. In this role, I look forward to sharing my knowledge and experience through training, supporting professionals who work with children, and contributing to programmes that promote the rights, protection, and development of children in Seychelles, contributing to meaningful and lasting change within the community..
