Celebrating Imagination: NCC’s Spectacular Book Parade

The National Council for Children (NCC) recently hosted a spectacular Book Parade, drawing over 400 participants who brought the pages of international and local books to life in vibrant, colorful costumes. From adventurous heroes to whimsical creatures, children and families gathered in the streets of Seychelles in a jubilant display of creativity and literary passion.

The event showcased Seychellois culture and the universal love for storytelling, inspiring smiles and fostering a deeper appreciation for literature among participants and onlookers alike. The Book Parade illuminated Seychelles as a hub of imagination and community spirit, promising more enchanting celebrations of literature in the future.

On Thursday 20th June, they immersed themselves in a simulation of the National Assembly of Seychelles, engaging in stimulating debates and exploring legislative processes. Witnessing their enthusiasm and active participation was truly inspiring. ????️????

NCC Hosts Exciting “Hot Seat” Session with Chief Justice! 

We are thrilled to share the success of our recent “Hot Seat” session, where students from 11 different schools came together to challenge and engage with the Chief Justice. This unique event was a dynamic blend of education and interaction, sparking meaningful conversations on critical legal issues.

Highlights:

  • Students posed challenging questions on a range of topics, from abortion rights to judicial efficiency.
  • The Chief Justice offered valuable insights on navigating a small jurisdiction and debated the relevance of existing laws in our modern society.

This interactive session not only deepened students’ understanding of legal principles but also underscored Seychelles’ commitment to fostering thoughtful dialogue on justice and law reform. The “Hot Seat” event truly showcased education in action, empowering our youth to explore and debate the complex issues shaping the future of our community.
